Ravenna Man Arrested, Accused of Raping 13 Year Old 03-09-2010

Ravenna, OH - Sheriff David Doak announced today the arrest on March 8, 2010 of one Gary A. Vargo, age 52 of 2416 Brady Lake Road, Ravenna, Ohio for the offense of rape, a felony of the first degree.
According to Doak, on March 5, 2010 it was reported to Sheriff’s Detectives that Vargo allegedly was engaged in inappropriate sexual conduct of a family member, under the age of 13.

NEOUCOM Foundation seeks sponsors and foursomes for annual golf outing 03-09-2010
Rootstown, OH - The Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine and Pharmacy (NEOUCOM) Foundation will host its ninth annual golf outing on Monday, May 10, 2010 at Firestone Country Club. Individuals can enjoy the company of NEOUCOM alumni and friends for lunch and 18 holes of golf on the beautiful North Course.
The event is held in honor of Glenn H. Meadows, former member of both the College Board of Trustees and NEOCOM Foundation Board. Proceeds benefit the Blue Fund, which supports academic programs, scholarships, research, equipment and other needs of the institution. The title sponsor for is Paul A. Suspect in Ohio State Shooting Dead From Self-Inflicted Gun Shot Wound 03-09-2010
Columbus, OH - It has just been reported that the suspect in the Ohio State shooting this morning, has died from injuries in a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
An Ohio State University employee opened fire Tuesday at a campus maintenance building, killing a co-worker and wounding another, the university said. A suspect also was wounded and was taken into custody, officials said.

Clevaland Man Sent To Prison After Giving Wife AIDS 03-09-2010
Cleveland, OH - A local man is sentenced to five years behind bars after failing to tell his wife he was HIV positive.
Monday afternoon, 51-year-old Fernando Castro of Beachwood, apologized to his wife and her family before learning his punishment. "I would like to apologize to my wife and ask her to forgive me for what I've done," said Castro.

Early Morning Shooting At Ohio State Leaves One Dead, Two Wounded 03-09-2010

Columbus, OH - Three Ohio State University employees were shot, one of them fatally, in an early Tuesday morning attack on campus, university police said.
The alleged shooter was in custody, said Ohio State University Police Chief Paul Denton.
No students were involved in the shooting, which occurred around 3:30 a.m. ET at the McCracken Power Plant building on West 17th Avenue near Ohio Stadium, Denton said.

SeaWorld Tragedy; Family of Victim Seeks to Prevent Release of Surveillance Video 03-09-2010

Orlando, FL - SeaWorld Orlando and the family of a park trainer drowned last month by a killer whale are preparing for a legal battle to prevent video footage of the accident from being aired on television or online.
The parties have held talks with Jon Mills, an emeritus dean at the University of Florida's Levin College of Law and a former speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, about representing them in efforts to block release of video recordings of the Feb. 24 tragedy, in which a 6-ton orca pulled 40-year-old trainer Dawn Brancheau into its tank and drowned her in front of park guests.
