Ravenna
Mayor, Joseph Bica, Jr.
Last week, we
sat down with Joseph Bica Jr., or simply Joe
as he asked to be called, the new mayor of
Ravenna.
Not having ever met Mayor Bica before, I
didn’t know what to expect. What we found

the meeting for this interview had to be
postponed several times last week,
nevertheless, he made it a priority to sit
down with us so that you, the residents can
know him on a more personal level.

did not know much about the man and was
complacent with the previous Sheriff.
However, after meeting him and having
several telephone conversations with Sheriff
Doak I can say if I had to vote over
tomorrow, my vote would change.

Judge Laurie J.
Pittman
When we made the decision to start this
section of E-Portage, where we will bring to
you interviews with local people in power in
Portage County, we pondered long and hard on
who the first interview would be.
We decided on Judge Laurie J. Pittman of the
Portage County Court of Common Pleas. In the
three occasions that I have had to meet
Judge Pittman while setting up this
interview...
